FAQ

General

Will you sell/share my email address with anyone?

Absolutely not. Our privacy policy states exactly what purposes we will use your email address for, and these definitely do not include sharing your email address with anyone else, unless we are obliged to by law (e.g. as a result of a court order).

How many domains can I track?

At the moment all users are limited to tracking 10 domains, whilst we carry out beta testing.

I've just renewed my domain, why doesn't the new expiry date show?

In order to keep the number of queries we make to the WHOIS servers to a minimum, we cache domain information for 24 hours. Therefore, if you modify any aspect of your domain it may take up to 24 hours for these changs to show up on Track Domains.

Can't you refresh domain information more frequently?

Our data comes directly from querying the various WHOIS servers on the Internet. The companies who run these servers monitor activity carefully, and may block anyone who they feel is making too many requests within a short period of time. If Track Domains were to be blocked, this would affect the service for all of our users, so we have chosen 24 hours as a compromise between keeping your domain information up to date and avoiding a ban.

The information for my domain is incorrect, can you change it for me?

We pull our domain data from the WHOIS record for your domain, so if there is an error there it will be replicated in our database. We cannot change the information held for your domain, you must contact your registrar or login to the control panel which they provide in order to do this. Any changes which you make will then be reflected on our site within 24 hours.

Can I pay to track more domains?

We are planning to offer a variety of paid plans with the ability to track more domains and offering extra features. These plans will be implemented once our beta testing stage is over and we have a billing system in place.
